Community advocate, Bob Carter, declares his candidacy for re-election to Montana House District 96
Missoula, MT – Bob Carter, a dedicated advocate and a fixture in the Missoula communities of Target Range and Orchard Homes, announces his candidacy for re-election in Montana House District 96. With deep roots as a third-generation Montanan and a 19-year resident of the Target Range neighborhood, Carter brings experience and commitment to his candidacy.
Carter’s extensive track record includes four terms as a Target Range School Board member, more than a decade of service to the Target Range Homeowners Association, and several terms on the board of the Target Range Sewer and Water District. He has held the position of board member and president at the Orchard Homes Country Life Club and has contributed his time and leadership as a volunteer and board member for various non-profit and educational institutions.
Having grown up working on farms and ranches in central Montana, Carter attended college at the University of Montana, finely earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with minors in both Math and Media Arts in 2022, focusing on finance and accounting. A lifelong learner, community activist and volunteer, Carter, along with his wife Laurie, are small business owners and hold a state license as foster care parents, fostering more than 50 youth.
As a family who loves all outdoor activities, Carter is a strong supporter of public lands and public education, and brings a genuine commitment to the values of House District 96. The district encompasses the Target Range School district, Fort Missoula, O’Brien Creek, Big Flat, Council Grove, Kona Ranch, parts of Mullen Road, Deep Creek, Southgate Mall, the Fairgrounds, extending past Playfair Park to Bancroft Street.
Bob Carter’s candidacy represents a continuation of his dedication to the well-being and progress of House District 96 and the Missoula community. With a proven record of community service and a genuine connection to the district’s diverse communities, Carter promises to continue his contribution as a representative in the Montana House.
